What's Happening - April, 2009
The 2009 feature documentary EMPRESS HOTEL is an "official selection" in two film festivals for the month of April. Nashville Film Festival: Sunday, April 19 at 4:30 pm and Monday, April 20 at 2:00 pm. San Francisco International Film Festival: Saturday, April 25 at 3:15 pm; Monday, April 27 at 6:00 pm; Wednesday, April 29 at 6:15 pm. The film is the newest from Academy and Emmy Award winning filmakers, Allie Light and Irving Saraf. "Larry Seymour wrote a magnificent score for our latest feature-length documentary, Empress Hotel... his music has an overriding theme yet every cue has its own characteristic complimenting the particular sequence it accompanies. He is a talented, imaginative and knowledgeable composer who thoroughly understands the language of film." Irving Saraf and Allie Light, Academy and Emmy Award winners The subject matter is the Empress Hotel and it's homeless inhabitants. The Score is, primarily, a jazz/blues style with strings, and features saxophone, piano, bass, and drums. Click here for music samples and more.
The musical score for the web-series iCANDY has been completed. Release dates will be forthcoming. The series is a comedy and revolves around a PR firm and it's exploits. The Score is groove oriented (Oceans 11 style) with a hint of Thomas Newman (marimba, pizz, and various interesting sounds). Click here for music samples and more.
